Somatic & Restorative Movement Teacher, Integrative Healer
guided by the wisdom of Nature and Spirit.
I'm the creator of Move Deeply Wellness, based in Vancouver, Canada. I’d like to share my meandering story with you. Why? Because you are allowed to change and experiment. You are allowed to be curious about possibilities. Perhaps this will ignite a little spark in you, to begin that shift your soul has been craving. Or at the very least, you’ll learn a little more about me and my vision for Move Deeply :-)
Our bodies know it's time for a change before our minds do. What is your body telling you? What are you ready to release, and what are you ready to invite in? Keep this in mind as you read…
My personal healing work over the last few years has led me to be a healer during this journey of my soul. This is how Move Deeply came to be, and why I began to walk The Medicine Path.
I am a creative soul that has experimented with everything from theatre, to music, art and clothing design. I've worked many jobs to support my creative endeavors, from custom framing, to landscaping, to educational programming at a botanical garden.
My path to restorative wellness began in my mid-30s, after spending the better part of a decade living with chronic pain in my shoulders. Despite being in pain, I wanted to keep moving, and taking a 200 hour yoga teacher training seemed like a good way to go deeper into movement and self care. It was intense, and one of the best choices I’ve made.
I came to recognize that my seemingly endless soul searching through the creative arts was what ultimately needed to shift. I began to feel a strong pull towards the healing arts as I connected more deeply with my body through yoga and somatic movement. I even had astrology chart and akashic record readings that strongly suggested my soul is here to help others on their healing journey. The skeptic i me didn’t want to believe “that stuff”, but I kept feeling that pull to learn more.
Before I started exploring the Medicine Path with my teacher Angela Prider, I had a very off-and-on spiritual practice. As I developed my work in wellness, I could sense this was a missing link.
I had strong skills in movement and teaching, but Angela helped me reconnect with my instincts and core being through Animism and the Medicine Spiral.
I am now cultivating a deep connection with my roots in Celtic and European ancestry and see the value in integrating this in the work I do. The Irish Spirit Wheel is a powerful tool to connect with the cycles of nature. The more we walk with the rhythms of nature, the more easeful life becomes.
There is so much wisdom to receive if we just tune in, from our human ancestors and the plants and animals all around us. They are here to remind us that we are our the medicine. For ourselves, and for each other.
I have had the privilege of learning and training with some incredible mentors and teachers in the wellness world. My body pain led me to restorative movement by necessity. I now know that this is why I am here - to help others discover how moving deeply from within, with the rhythms of nature, is a powerful healing tool.
Through somatic yoga and float therapy, I finally found relief. It was nearly instantaneous, like magic. Re-alignment and stress relief were two key features of these two practices, so I decided to go deeper. I focused on training and teaching as a somatic movement instructor for several years, and still enjoy teaching it to this day, however there was still more to explore within myself and the somatic world.
The deep connection with the body that somatics facilitates is something that has never failed to amaze me and my students, and most recently, the power of dance has been brought into my life on a somatic level.
Dance as Medicine uses somatics to "unravel the story the body holds". We learn to enter a trance state through mindful movement, using the 5 elements, 4 directions, ritual, and more to get closer to our true essence and release that which no longer serves us.

My personal practice of animism, plant medicine and following the Celtic Medicine Wheel (Irish Spirit Wheel) is the container that holds what I've learned and guides what I teach. My purpose is to help you connect more deeply with yourself, with others, and with the natural world through a holistic restorative wellness practice that is Move Deeply Wellness.
Move Deeply isn't just moving your body. It's body, mind and soul. It's being open to a bit of magic and mystery. It's staying curious, so you can interact with the world in a way that is meaningful for you. It's healing through somatic connection. Everything is connected. When one heals, we all heal. I'm here to help you return to your Self, your unique essence, through movement and the wisdom of Nature.
Are you feeling the urge to connect more deeply with nature? To repeat from above, our bodies know it's time for a change before our minds do. What is your body telling you? What are you ready to release, and what are you ready to invite in?
